In the Life Archive 2.0

An oral history project and podcast that centers stories of Black queer folk.

The goal of this project is to obtain, archive and share stories of the rich life and times of Black trans, non-binary, fluid, and queer people from all works of life throughout the African diaspora.

Archiving these stories of love, loss, heartbreak, setbacks, triumphs and redemption ensures that our stories are first not lost to time, and secondly and more importantly, narratively controlled by us.

In the Life Archive 2.0 is named to honor the legacy of the In the Life Archive housed at the the Schomburg Center for the Research in Black Culture, curated by Steven G. Fullwood.

Although this project is not affiliated with the Schomburg Center, we hope to build on the legacy of preserving and archiving Black queer stories and connect people to the already existing archival materials on black queer life.

We want this project to be a community effort. So if you know someone or you, yourself, have non monetary contributions to help this project come to fruition.
